The trip is a gift. What address do I need to fill in?

Please fill in the address of the person that pays for the trip. All communication (as well as the confirmations) will be sent to the email address that is provided at the time of booking.

Is it possible to call into your office to make my reservation?

We are purely an internet based Tour Operator, and unfortunately, our office is not equipped for this service. We kindly request that you to make your travel arrangements online. Please feel free to contact us should you experience any difficulties during the booking process. We shall be more than happy to help.

What do you do with my personal information?

We use your information only for our personal use and do not share it with other parties. Please read our Privacy Policy. Of course, your name will be given to the various suppliers but your details will only be used for contact regarding your booking.

When do I get my opera tickets?

With regard to your travel documents, these will be forwarded to you in PDF format no later than 7 days prior to the opera date. Within these documents you will find your flight E-tickets, hotel voucher and a transfer voucher (if booked). opera tickets will be delivered by courier to your hotel, signed for and stored in a secure location by hotel staff for your collection at the reception desk. Unfortunately it is not possible for the tickets to be delivered to your home address. The reason for this policy is that the tickets are often dispatched very shortly before departure and there is sometimes insufficient time to have them delivered to you safely. This is the safest and most secure delivery method proven over many years of good experience.

Is it possible for you to send me a brochure?

Unfortunately it is not possible for us to forward a brochure to you by post. Our full range of products, prices and availability are clearly displayed on our website. Working in this way enables us to keep overheads as low as possible and in turn offer you with the cheapest opera break possible.

What happens after my booking?

Immediately (within minutes) after making your booking you will receive a confirmation of your booking and payment via email. This confirmation also shows all flights, hotels and any extras added to your booking. No later than 7 days prior to the opera you will receive your travel documents by email. This will contain information such as:

1. E-tickets for your flight
These are e-tickets issued by the airline. All tickets are in your name, which must match your passport or national ID card details.

2. Confirmation of your hotel.
You will receive a voucher for checking into your hotel.

3. Confirmation of your opera tickets.
We will confirm the booking of your opera tickets within these documents. The opera tickets will be sent before the beginning of the opera, by courier, to the hotel. This is 100% safe.

4. Emergency numbers which you can use to reach us during your trip.
In the unlikely event that you have an urgent question for us whilst you are away we have an emergency telephone number at your disposal, 24 hours a day, where we can be reached should our office be closed.

5. Route description from airport to hotel and hotel to the theatre.

With your travel documents and your passport in your pocket, you are now ready to take your exciting trip!

Where can I purchase only an opera ticket?

Unfortunately we do not have a partner company which offers the sale of ticket only. You may try to research this yourself online but this is not something that we would recommend due to the high volumes of unofficial tickets on sale.


Why should I pay using my card?

Availability of various travel arrangements may change. Therefore, we book immediately after receiving your payment, the flight, hotel, and opera ticket all in your name. We therefore ask you for a direct payment in order to guarantee your reservation.

Is it safe to pay online with OperaTravel?

The payment process of OperaTravel is secured with VeriSign SSL (Secure Socket Layer) and SET (Secure Electronic Transaction) and takes place on a secure server. This secure connection is identified by the padlock in the address bar of your browser. Your payment and banking information are not saved. Your payment by credit card is via a secure connection to the secure online banking system led by our financial services Docdata Internet Payments which handles your payment on behalf of OperaTravel.

How can I pay for the trip?

In step 6 of the booking process you can select your preferred method of payment.

What extras must I Pay?

It is not necessary to pay any extras. The displayed prices are always inclusive of all surcharges, taxes and booking fees. We believe in making all prices as simple as possible. The price displayed is always based on a standard flight time, hotel and match ticket which will be clearly indicated. For most packages you can make additional upgrades for which the supplements will be shown.

Are the prices inclusive of VAT?

Yes all prices are inclusive of VAT.



Why do the prices on your website fluctuate?

This is mainly due to fluctuating air fares by the airlines we use. Prices often increase as the departure date approaches so it is advisable to book as early as possible to guarantee the best price.

What is not included in the price of my package?

Travel insurance, transfers and expenditure whilst on your opera break are not included. Travel Insurance can be booked in step 6 of the booking process. Information on your route from the airport using public transport will be issued with your travel documents. We can arrange private transfers from the airport to your hotel in many cases. For a price on this service please contact us with your booking number.

Can I extend my trip?

Yes. Our opera trips are fully customisable and can be extended, but not shortened. You can use the calendar to determine your preferred travel dates. The premium for the extra hotel nights is shown in Step 3. However, you cannot depart later or return earlier than our dates, which are chosen to allow for any possible changes to schedules.

Is a day trip possible?

Unfortunately, the start and end of the opera does not allow for same day travel. Therefore, a minimum stay of 1 night is required.

Is the package still available?

All travel bookings made online are guaranteed to be available. Thus, you are assured of a definite flight, hotel and opera seats reservation.

Is the transfer included?

Your trip does not include transfers. Information is provided in your travel documents on how to get from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the theatre whenever you can travel by public transport.

When will I receive the travel documents?

Immediately after your reservation you will receive a confirmation email of your payment and a record of your journey. You will receive the travel documents no later than 7 days prior to the opera date.

What information is given in the travel documents?

We provide you with a fully extensive overview of your booking including details of your flights, hotel, opera tickets and route from the Airport. You are of course welcome to contact us if anything contained within your documents is unclear.

Opera tickets

Where will I be seated in the theatre?

All prices on our website are based on standard opera tickets but upgrades are possible. Please see the upgrades available with seating explanation in step 2 of the booking process.

Will we be seated together in the theatre

The opera is obviously the highlight of your trip. We understand that you and your companions will not only enjoy it but will also want to be able to chat! Therefore we offer a unique 100% seating guarantee. You are thereby assured that you will always get up to three seats together in the theatre. Read more in our 100% seating guarantee

Can my tickets be delivered to me in the U.K?

Unfortunately it is not possible for the tickets to be delivered to you in the U.K. the reason for this policy is that the tickets are often dispatched very shortly before departure and there is sometimes insufficient time to have them delivered to you. Therefore you will receive the tickets at the hotel. The tickets are delivered by courier and the hotel sign for them, they will then be stored in a secure location by staff for your collection at the reception desk on the day of arrival or day of the opera. This is a very safe delivery method.

Can the opera date be changed?

If the fixture changes and falls outside of your itinerary, we can adjust your travel dates to ensure you see the opera. Read more in our OperaProtect guarantee


Will my flight time be too close to the opera start time?

Of course we will ensure that timetables within your package are tailored to the actual scheduled time of the opera. Our trips are tailored so that your flight is always connected to the opera. Moreover, we protect you with our OperaProtect guarantee, which guarantees that the opera in each case fits your itinerary.

What is the name of the airline?

You will receive the name of the airline with your booking confirmation, by email, after booking.

Why am I charged a flight supplement?

The holiday prices given by this website are based on flights that often do not carry a supplement. The flight supplements shown reflect the additional cost of flying from certain airports, or on certain days of the week. The website will add or subtract the correct flight supplement from the price of your holiday.

Will I receive paper tickets?

No, all of the airlines that we work with now issue electronic tickets. We will provide you with your reference number and full details of check in. This is all that is required for you to board your flight.


Is the accommodation including breakfast?

As standard our prices are exclusive if breakfast. However many of the hotels we offer will include breakfast at no extra charge, if this is the case then we will of course include it in your package. Please refer to your travel documents for confirmation of your circumstances regarding this.

Which hotel will I be staying in?

For most of our packages you can choose your own hotel in step 2 of the booking process. For other packages you will be allocated in a 3* or 4* centrally located hotel. Details of your hotel will be shown in your travel documents. Should you have a preference which hotel you are allocated please mention this in the special request section at booking stage. Requests however cannot be guaranteed.

Can I choose my own room type?

In step 1 of the booking process, it is possible to specify your room requests. You can usually specify a twin room (two single beds), a double room (one double bed), a triple room or a single room. You can be assured that your selection is guaranteed. Information on the room type booked can be found in your travel documents.


I want to change the name of one or more of the passengers travelling. Is this possible?

This is possible subject to an administration charge of 20.00 GBP per person, per amendment, plus any charges made by the airline. Please forward your amendment requests to us in writing by email. We will then obtain the price for your amendment and advise you of it. Please note as standard the earlier you advise us of a change the cheaper it will be. Full payment for amendment fees must be paid before the change can be made to your booking.

I have already booked but now wish to upgrade my match tickets. Is this possible?

You can contact us by email indicating which category you wish to upgrade your tickets to. We will send you a quotation for the new category of ticket should they be available plus any additional costs.

Can the show date be changed?

I no longer wish to travel. Can I cancel my trip?

Our cancellation policy is 100% therefore no refunds are given. Should you wish to amend to a different departure date please send us an email outlining your request and we will do our best to assist with this. Should you wish to cancel for an insurable reason such as ill health we would recommend that you contact your insurance provider to make a claim.
